Claudia and BruceClaudia Russell is a singer, songwriter and guitarist with a unique style woven from her musical loves—folk, blues, western swing, rock and county. Backed by her husband Bruce Kaplan on mandolin and guitar, she has an expressive voice that is as home on a whispery ballad as a full-tilt Buddy Holly-styled romp. Claudia's performances are truly musical, heartfelt and entertaining. Using humor, personal stories and her "Who me?" attitude, Claudia bonds with audiences, winning them over with her powerful voice and signature guitar playing.

Claudia was recognized as Best New Artist from Boston Folk Radio powerhouse WUMB-FM in 2001 and she has been featured in the SF Chronicle, the Boston Globe, Sing Out Magazine as well as on West Coast Live, and NPR’s All things Considered. Claudia and Bruce have performed at top venues all cross the US, including Club Passim, Johnny D's, the Kerrville Folk Festival as well as the Boston Folk Festival, and New Bedford Summerfest. This is Russell's fourth appearance at Linden Tree.

In a field crowded with talent, Russell is a standout. Suzyn Mills, concert director of Chicago's Acoustic Renaissance says, "Russell is spectacular! If you haven't seen Claudia Russell and her husband Bruce Kaplan, RUN, DON'T WALK, to the next concert. You won't be disappointed. They’re terrific."

RobinRobin Greenstein may be the best-kept secret in contemporary acoustic music today. She is a singer-songwriter from NYC whose music fuses folk, pop, blues and country elements into a blend she calls "Acousticness" which is also the title of her second CD. Her debut album "SLOW BURN" received rave reviews when it was first released. Robin has won folk competitions and showcased at both the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and the Northeast Folk Alliance Conference. She was a finalist at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival (1989) in Texas, the premier songwriting festival in the country. Among favorite gig of recent years - singing the national anthem at Madison Square Garden in NYC for the NY Knicks!

Robin has two CDs of original music as well as 2 CDs of traditional folk and blues songs about women called "Images of Women," and a children's CD "Art Is A Language". "Images of Women, Vol. 2" released in 2010 was on the first ballot for the Grammys (Best Traditional Folk Album, American Routes category.) Her most recent CD is "Songs of the Season," a multi-cultural musical exploration of the December holidays, based on a holiday show she performs, of the same name.  A song from that CD, "Celebrate Hanukkah" has been in rotation on Sirius-FM's Hanukkah channel for the past two holiday seasons.

Playing both guitar and banjo, Robin straddles the musical worlds of contemporary singer-songwriter pop-folk as well as traditional Anglo-American folk, Afro-American and Jewish music. From songwriting for Bob Dylan, to working for Martin Guitars and performing annually for Club Med, Robin has a wide and varied resume that promises an eclectic performance at the Linden Tree.
